Co-Managed IT
You're the IT department. All of it. Kortech plugs in behind you to co-manage the firewalls, switches, and Wi-Fi, take the after-hours calls, and put boots on the ground for the projects you can't do alone. You keep the keys and the credit.
Sound familiar?
You're expected to run the help desk, own the firewall, design the Wi-Fi, keep backups honest, pass the audit, and somehow deliver projects too. Nobody is great at all of that, and headcount isn't coming. That's not a reflection of you. It's the job being bigger than one person.
Most IT people we meet don't want an MSP to take over. They want backup. Someone to escalate a routing problem to at 6pm, a crew to pull the cable, and a second set of eyes before a firewall change goes live.
What it actually looks like
A branch VPN tunnel drops after hours. Here's how it plays out when you have a bench behind you.
Without a bench, that same night runs until midnight, or it waits until morning and the batch job fails. The difference isn't skill. It's having someone to hand it to.
What we take off your plate
Co-managed is not all-or-nothing. Most clients start with the network and add from there.
FortiGate, Meraki MX, and Check Point managed and monitored: policy changes, firmware, VPN, and threat filtering, with you in the loop on every change.
Switches, access points, and circuits watched 24/7 from our NOC, so you find out from us, not from a user.
Predictive heat-mapping and RF cleanup for the coverage problems that never quite get solved between tickets.
A senior engineer to call when you hit the edge of your specialty. No ticket queue, no script readers.
Nights, weekends, and holidays covered so you can take a vacation without carrying the on-call phone.
Licensed techs for structured cabling, racks, AP installs, and camera work. The physical labor you can't do alone.
Office moves, new sites, refreshes, and expansions delivered on schedule while you keep the lights on.
PCI, HIPAA, CMMC, SOC 2, FedRAMP, and HITRUST. Certified assessors to prep the evidence and sit in the audit with you.
UniFi Protect camera systems designed, installed, and maintained, so it's not one more thing on your list.
The part that matters
The fear with bringing in an outside firm is obvious: they get comfortable, start talking to your boss, and suddenly you're managing a vendor who's angling for your job. We don't work that way, and we'll put it in writing.
You own the relationship with your business. We're the specialists you bring in, the way a good contractor works with a project manager. When the network runs clean and the audit passes, that's your win.
How it's structured
Start small and expand, or hand over the network on day one. Your call.
| Model | Best when | What we do | What stays yours |
|---|---|---|---|
| Escalation Only | You're capable but alone, and need senior backup for the hard stuff. | On-call senior engineers, second opinions, emergency response, change review. | Everything. You run day-to-day, we're the phone call. |
| Co-Managed Network | The network and edge security eat time you don't have. | Firewalls, switches, and Wi-Fi monitored and managed 24/7, plus patching and firmware. | Help desk, endpoints, apps, users, and vendor decisions. |
| Project Partner | You have a build-out, move, or refresh and no crew. | Design, cabling, racks, APs, cameras, cutover, and documentation. | Ongoing operations. We hand it back clean and documented. |
Why Kortech
Most MSPs subcontract cabling and low-voltage. Most cabling companies can't co-manage a firewall. We do both in-house, which means one team owns the problem from the patch panel to the policy rule.
That's fine. Plenty of our co-managed work sits alongside another provider who handles endpoints and help desk while we own the network and the physical layer. We're comfortable sharing a sandbox.
Start the conversationGetting started
A call with an engineer, not a salesperson. You tell us what's actually breaking.
We review your network and edge, then hand you the findings whether you hire us or not.
Together we decide exactly what we own and what stays with you, in writing.
Monitoring goes live, escalation paths open, and you get your evenings back.
For the one-person IT department
Book a no-pressure call with one of our engineers. Tell us what's on fire, and we'll tell you honestly whether we can help.
